Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, commercially driven Partnerships & Merchandise Manager to spearhead strategic collaborations, expand distribution, and scale Kunda Kids’ merchandise line.
This is a Pan-African, global-facing role for a commercially savvy leader with deep creative experience and AI fluency. You’re not just about what looks good—you think about what works, what speaks to children, what differentiates us from competitors, and how to get there faster, smarter, and bolder.
What You’ll Do
Partnerships Development
- Identify, build, and manage strategic partnerships with brands, distributors, educational institutions, retail outlets, and corporate sponsors.
- Develop co-branding and licensing opportunities that align with Kunda Kids’ vision.
- Negotiate contracts, sponsorship deals, and revenue-sharing arrangements.
- Maintain strong partner relationships, ensuring long-term value creation.
Merchandise & Product Management
- Drive the design, production, and distribution of Kunda Kids’ merchandise (books, toys, apparel, stationery, etc.).
- Manage supplier relationships, production timelines, and quality assurance.
- Oversee inventory, pricing strategies, and retail placement across physical and online stores.
- Collaborate with creative teams on product innovation and branding.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop go-to-market strategies for merchandise launches.
- Expand retail and e-commerce distribution networks locally and internationally.
- Monitor performance, analyze sales data, and optimize for growth.
Marketing & Brand Alignment
- Work with the marketing team to drive awareness of merchandise and partnerships through campaigns, events, and activations.
- Ensure merchandise and partnerships are consistent with Kunda Kids’ brand values and storytelling.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in partnerships, merchandising, or brand management (preferably in FMCG, lifestyle, publishing, or kids’ entertainment).
- Proven success in negotiating and managing high-value partnerships.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of revenue growth.
- Experience with product development and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and entrepreneurial environment.
