Role: Managing Director (MD)
Location: Abuja
Reports to: Board of Directors
Direct Reports: Executive Management Team (CTO, Head of Operations, Finance Manager, etc.)
Main Function
The Managing Director (MD) provides strategic leadership and oversees all operations and business activities of the organization to ensure alignment with the company’s vision, values, and financial goals. The ideal candidate must have a solid background in the ICT industry, with deep knowledge of emerging technologies, digital transformation, enterprise infrastructure, and tech-driven service delivery. This role requires a visionary leader who is commercially savvy, innovation-driven, and capable of managing cross-functional teams for sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Role Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Vision
- Define and execute the company’s strategic roadmap in line with its mission and market opportunities.
- Drive innovation and positioning in key ICT sectors such as enterprise software, telecoms, cloud services, cybersecurity, or managed services.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily operations and ensure optimal performance across all departments.
- Establish internal processes and policies to support scalable and efficient operations.
Business Development and Market Expansion
- Identify and pursue new markets, products, and partnerships to drive business growth.
- Lead key contract negotiations and maintain high-level client and stakeholder relationships.
Financial Stewardship and Reporting
- Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and capital allocation.
- Ensure profitability, financial sustainability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Present reports and updates to the Board on performance and strategic direction.
Technology and Innovation Oversight
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and disruptive innovations.
- Promote a culture of digital transformation, agile execution, and customer-centric product development.
Corporate Governance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance practices, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
- Identify and mitigate operational, reputational, and financial risks.
People and Culture Development
- Lead and inspire a high-performing leadership team and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and inclusion.
- Drive talent development and succession planning at all levels.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certifications
- B.Sc or HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Strategy, or Technology Management is an advantage.
- Professional certifications in areas such as PMP, TOGAF, ITIL, or CISSP are highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in the ICT industry, with at least 5 years in a C-suite or senior executive leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in leading ICT operations, digital transformations, or technology-driven enterprise growth.

ICT Expertise and Innovation
- Deep understanding of ICT business models, platforms, and disruptive technologies.

- Strong financial literacy and understanding of P&L management, capital planning, and investment analysis.
- Capable of aligning budgets with strategic priorities.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills for board-level interaction and external relations.
- Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with clients, regulators, and partners.
Operational Excellence
- Ability to implement and optimize organizational systems, workflows, and digital tools.
- Results-oriented with a focus on KPIs, service quality, and process efficiency.
Change Management and Agility
- Skilled in leading teams through change, growth, and transformation.
- Adaptive to market shifts, client demands, and evolving technologies
