Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing & Purchasing:
- Identify reliable suppliers and request quotations for goods and services.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure value for money.
- Purchase Order Management:
- Prepare accurate purchase orders and ensure timely approvals.
- Track and monitor the status of orders and deliveries.
- Inventory Coordination:
- Liaise with the warehouse and stores unit to assess inventory needs and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Ensure timely procurement of inputs such as fertilizers, spare parts, PPEs, lubricants, and agrochemicals.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Maintain and update the approved vendor list.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities follow internal policies and external regulatory standards.
- Maintain proper documentation of procurement transactions for audits and internal controls.
- Market Intelligence:
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability.
- Provide timely reports and recommendations to aid strategic procurement decisions.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CIPSMN) is an added advantage.
- Willing to relocate
Experience:
- 2–4 years of relevant procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in the agribusiness, FMCG, or manufacturing sector.
Key Skills:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
