Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Category Procurement Manager to oversee sourcing and procurement operations for our alcoholic beverage portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in FMCG procurement, supplier relationship management, and category strategy development. This role is critical in ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned categories (raw materials, packaging, logistics, etc.)
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including market analysis, RFPs, negotiations, and contract management
- Manage supplier performance, ensuring delivery of quality, compliance, and value
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Finance, R&D, Quality Assurance) to align sourcing with business needs
- Monitor category performance, identify opportunities for cost savings, and mitigate risks
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, commodity pricing, and industry developments
- Ensure procurement practices comply with global and local policies and regulations
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in the supply base
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or CIPS certification is an advantage)
- Minimum of 5–7 years of procurement experience, preferably in the FMCG or alcoholic beverages industry
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract drafting skills
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Lagos, Nigeria
