Job Description
The Kitchen Assistant will support chefs and cooks in food preparation, kitchen organization, and cleaning duties. This role is essential for maintaining a hygienic, efficient, and well-functioning kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in basic food preparation and plating as directed by chefs.
- Wash, peel, chop and prepare ingredients.
- Ensure kitchen utensils, dishes and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of kitchen and storage areas.
- Assist with stock rotation and monitor supplies to prevent shortages.
- Comply with food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Steward, or in a similar role is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, punctual, and reliable attitude.
