Yum is looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and following food safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with food preparation, cutting, peeling, and portioning ingredients.
- Support in plating food to ensure meals are well-presented and served efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Ensure food items are properly stored and labeled according to food safety guidelines.
- Assist with stock checks and notify the team of low inventory levels.
- Support the kitchen are prepared on time.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a hygienic workspace.
- Help set up and organize kitchen tools and equipment for efficiency.
Requirements
- 1+ proven experience as a Kitchen Assistant or in a similar role is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Must reside within Ikeja or nearby areas for a reliable commute.
- Flexibility to work in shifts (morning and evening).
