Job Summary:
The Inventory Officer will be responsible for managing and tracking all inventory items, ensuring accurate stock records, monitoring stock levels, and supporting the production team with timely availability of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, packaging items, and finished products.
- Perform daily stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with the system.
- Monitor stock levels and alert management in advance about low stock or potential shortages.
- Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials and supplies.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations related to inventory management.
- Issue materials for production as requested and ensure proper documentation.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to prevent loss or damage.
- Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to management.
- Issue items to kitchen staff based on approved requisitions and document usage.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of all materials to maintain quality standards.
- Assist with periodic audits and stock verification exercises.
- Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method is strictly adhered to for perishables.
Key Job Requirements:
- Minimum of OND/HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in inventory or storekeeping role (preferably in food/retail industry).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile discrepancies and identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of basic inventory control principles.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional collaboration and negotiation abilities.
