Summary
This is a full-time on-site role for an Account Officer, based in Port Harcourt. The Account Officer will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing analytical insights. The role also includes customer service and effective communication with clients. On a day-to-day basis, the Account Officer will ensure accuracy in financial reporting, assist in budgeting, and maintain financial data integrity.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in preparing Financial Statements and strong Financial knowledge
- Strong Analytical Skills and a detail-oriented mindset
- Excellent Customer Service and Communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus (3years of work experience in Accounting position)
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field Working experience with Accounting Software eg. QuickBooks, Sage etc
Job Description
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper classification and timing
- Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual financial statements in accordance with accounting principles & policies
- Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank accounts & transactions
- Preparing invoices, quotes, expense reports and other management accounts in line with company procedures
- Reconcile the accounts payable & receivable, ensuring all balances are accurate
- Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Participate in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations
- Participate in the monitoring of compliance with accounting policies & procedures, ensuing compliance with internal controls
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Collaborating with other departments across – Admin, HR, Quality, Operations, HSE to ensure organization’s goals/objectives are met (especially the Admin Department)
