Job Position: Senior Human Resource Executive
Job Location: Sagamu, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities
- Partnering with hiring managers to understand manpower needs and develop recruitment strategies accordingly.
- Conducting interviews, background checks, and oversee onboarding processes.
- Maintaining up-to-date HR records, employee files, and HRIS systems.
- Overseeing the preparation of employment letters, contracts, ID cards, and other HR documentation.
- Managing leave administration, attendance records, and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensuring strict compliance with Nigerian labor laws, maritime regulations, and company policies.
- Monitoring and evaluating performance improvement plans and probation reviews.
- Working with managers to set KPIs and track employee performance metrics.
- Assisting the HR Manager in developing and executing strategic HR plans to align with business goals.
- Preparing monthly HR reports, including headcount, attrition, hiring status, and training progress.
- Participating in HR policy reviews and updates.
- Leading end-to-end recruitment processes for both technical and non-technical roles, including seafarers, port staff, drivers, logistics coordinators, etc.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics/shipping company
- Strong understanding of HR functions and employment regulations within the shipping & logistics industry.
- Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with maritime labor conventions and seafarer HR documentation is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of HSE procedures and workforce risk management in logistics operations.
