Role Description – Safety & Sanitation Officer
This is a full-time, on-site role at Wave Beach Limited, based in Lekki, Lagos. The Safety & Sanitation Officer will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols across all Wave Beach Group facilities, including our beach clubs, event spaces, food and beverage outlets, and recreational areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting routine safety and sanitation inspections in high-traffic areas such as bars, kitchens, pools, restrooms, and event venues.
- Ensuring compliance with national and international health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Overseeing cleanliness, pest control, and waste management processes to maintain a premium guest experience.
- Training and supervising staff and vendors on workplace safety, personal hygiene, and hazard prevention measures.
- Monitoring compliance, documenting incidents, and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Collaborating with facility management to ensure equipment, water systems, and food preparation areas meet safety standards. This role is critical to ensuring that every guest and team member enjoys a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, consistent with Wave Beach Limited’s reputation for excellence in hospitality and entertainment.

Qualifications
Professional Knowledge – Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and environmental health protocols, with a focus on high-volume hospitality and event operations.
Industry Experience – Prior work in food & beverage service, hospitality, or large-scale recreational facility management.
Safety Compliance Skills – Familiarity with Nigerian and international safety regulations, HACCP standards, and waste management best practices.
Communication & Training – Proven ability to train and motivate staff and vendors on safety, hygiene, and hazard prevention.
Attention to Detail – Exceptional observational skills for spotting potential safety risks and sanitation issues before they escalate.
Organizational Abilities – Capable of managing multiple facilities, priorities, and inspection schedules simultaneously.
Technical Competence – Experience using inspection checklists, incident logs, and reporting tools for compliance tracking.
Certifications – HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) certifications, Food Safety & Hygiene certifications, or equivalent are an advantage.
Education – Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
