Role Overview:
As an Expansion Officer , you will play a key support role in M-KOPA’s retail growth strategy. You’ll assist in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new retail locations to bring our products closer to customers. This is a junior-level position ideal for someone passionate about retail development, data-driven decision-making, and making a social impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the identification and evaluation of new retail locations across target regions.
- Conduct field visits and assist in site assessments, for setup
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Warehouse, Retail Operations, Legal, etc.) to support the setup of new outlets.
- Track, update and raise Pos for Rent and vendor payments
- Liaise with retail teams on issues of maintenance, repairs of facilities
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform location strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of leases, Licences, vendor/Landlord engagements, and expansion documentation. Geo-mapping: Ensure the exact locations of depots and shops are uploaded on Geo Maps

Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Economics, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in retail operations or business development.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power point
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently for fieldwork and site assessments. Passion for financial inclusion and M-KOPA’s mission.
