Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for leading and managing the sales operations in a designated geographical region. This role involves developing sales strategies, achieving revenue targets, managing a team of sales representatives or Area Sales Managers, building strong customer relationships, and driving market share growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement regional sales plans aligned with national objectives.
Analyze regional market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to optimize sales strategies.
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives or Area Sales Managers. Set individual sales targets, monitor performance, and ensure accountability.
Performance Management
Track sales metrics, prepare regular reports on regional performance, and provide feedback to upper management. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Customer Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners.
Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Territory Management
Ensure effective coverage of the region by allocating territories and optimizing sales routes.
Monitor territory performance and recommend adjustments as needed.
Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, product, supply chain, and finance teams to align regional efforts.
Provide feedback on product performance, customer needs, and market conditions.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in sales, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role within a similar industry.
