Vectar is a climate technology company established in 2020, focused on accelerating solar deployment through voluntary carbon markets. Our flagship platform, ecoWise, is Africa’s first digital Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (dMRV) solution, transforming environmental data into verifiable climate assets such as carbon credits and RECs. By digitising solar data, ecoWise enables clean energy providers to access carbon finance, reduce tariffs, and scale deployment, particularly in underserved communities.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Program Manager Climate & Energy Innovation. The manager will drive the design, execution, and expansion of ecoWise across Nigeria and Africa. Reporting directly to the CEO, the manager will lead program delivery, manage complex stakeholder ecosystems, and ensure alignment with international standards (e.g., Verra). This is a role requiring both strategic vision and operational discipline turning ecoWise from a pilot into a scalable climate finance engine.

Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Scale up
- Develop and implement the ecoWise strategy and roadmap across pilot, national, and regional phases.
- Define KPIs, growth pathways, and measurable impact targets for solar scale-up and carbon revenues. Align program goals with donor, investor, and stakeholder priorities.
Program Delivery & Governance
- Oversee installation, validation, and registry onboarding of ecoWise across mini-grids and C&I sites.
- Ensure robust dMRV operations, data integrity, and compliance under the ecoWise Impact Assurance Protocol (eIAP) .
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with solar developers, asset owners, DFIs, corporate buyers, multilaterals, and regulators.
- Lead multi-stakeholder forums, panels, and working groups to drive adoption and credibility.
- Represent Vectar with governments, standards bodies, and registries at the highest levels.
Team Leadership
- Build and manage a cross functional program team across engineering, policy, partnerships, and communications.
- Mentor staff to deliver excellence across technical, operational, and stakeholder facing workstreams.
- Track day-to-day program activities, run dashboards, lead events, and ensure outputs are on time and budget.
- Manage a lean, cross-functional team (engineering, comms, partnerships).
- Step in directly when tasks need urgent execution (e.g., presentations, events, reports).
Skills and attributes
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Energy Policy, or related.
- 3-5 years’ experience in program leadership/operations (climate, energy, or sustainability).
- Track record of delivering both strategy and day-to-day execution
- Proven track record of managing multi-stakeholder programs in the energy or development sector.
- Experience working with regulators, government ministries, embassies, or international organisations.
- Familiarity with Nigeria’s energy landscape, especially mini-grids and C&I solar, is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, research, and energy policy expertise.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, including use of Gantt charts, dashboards, and collaboration tools (Notion, Trello, Google Workspace).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, diverse, and remote teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and financial concepts to varied audiences.
- Hands-on, proactive approach to operational delivery.
- Familiarity with ESG, SDG frameworks, and impact reporting. High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and resilience.
