Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Primary English Educator to teach foundational literacy skills in line with the Cambridge curriculum. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to guide students through critical language development and show awareness of how early literacy connects to long-term academic standards, including IGCSE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging English lessons focused on reading, writing, speaking, grammar, and comprehension.
- Employ creative teaching techniques to inspire language acquisition and confidence in young learners.
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials that align with Cambridge Primary standards.
- Track and assess students’ learning progress through various assessment tools.
- Encourage a culture of reading, storytelling, and creative expression.
- Provide differentiated support to meet individual learner needs.
- Offer guidance that supports a smooth academic progression toward Checkpoint and IGCSE readiness.
- Maintain up-to-date records and participate in academic reporting.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance curriculum planning and school initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- PGDE or equivalent certification preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience teaching English at the primary level.
- Strong familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum progression, including IGCSE standards.
- Sound knowledge of phonics, comprehension, and written expression strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for nurturing a lifelong love for reading and language in young learners.
