We are expanding and looking for an experienced Kitchen Supervisor to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations, maintain food quality, and manage kitchen staff to consistently meet Yum’s operational standards, compliance requirements, and food readiness timelines.
Role Overview
The Kitchen Supervisor will oversee daily kitchen operations, manage the cooking team, ensure meals are ready on time, and enforce Yum’s operational policies. This role is critical in delivering an exceptional customer experience through timely order preparation, staff compliance with company standards, and strict adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations & Timeliness
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen activities to ensure all orders are prepared and ready for dispatch within set timelines.
- Monitor order flow and work closely with delivery teams to avoid delays.
- Adjust staffing or workflows in real-time to maintain service speed during peak hours.
Quality, Compliance & Policy Adherence
- Ensure all meals meet Yum’s quality, presentation, and portion standards.
- Enforce staff adherence to Yum’s SOPs, operational policies, and code of conduct.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure operational and safety standards are met.
Inventory & Cost Management
- Track ingredient usage and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Communicate supply needs to procurement promptly.
- Minimize wastage and control food costs without compromising quality.
Team Supervision & Training
- Assign tasks and oversee the work of kitchen staff.
- Train team members on Yum’s operational standards, safety protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and professional conduct.
Reporting
- Maintain daily kitchen production and performance reports.
- Report operational issues, delays, or compliance concerns to the Head of Operations promptly.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
- Must have 3+ years experience in a supervisory role in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, or cloud kitchen.
- Proven ability to manage food readiness timeliness and meet service SLAs.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, compliance, and policy enforcement.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high‑volume environment.
- Must reside within Ikeja.
