Job Description/Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Head of Commercial with a strong background in solar energy and proven expertise in growth and partnerships. The role involves driving revenue growth, building strategic alliances, and ensuring commercial success of the solar manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy aligned with business goals.
Lead market entry initiatives, identifying opportunities in Nigeria and other African markets.
Build and manage strategic partnerships with EPC contractors, government agencies, and distributors.
Oversee contract negotiations with suppliers, clients, and stakeholders to secure favorable terms.
Drive new business acquisition, ensuring a steady pipeline of high-value opportunities.
Collaborate with production teams to align manufacturing capacity with market demand.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions.
Set and track sales performance KPIs, ensuring revenue targets are consistently met.
Lead the development of pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability.
Provide executive-level reports on commercial performance, forecasts, and risk assessments.
Mentor and build a high-performing commercial team to drive business objectives.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and government regulations affecting operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in any related field.
Minimum 10 years in commercial leadership, with at least 5 years in solar/renewables.
Proven track record of closing high-value deals and building sustainable partnerships.
Strong understanding of the solar energy supply chain and market dynamics.
Experience working in manufacturing and project-based environments.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders at all levels.
Knowledge of Nigerian energy regulations and international trade practices.
Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and revenue forecasting.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
