Role Overview

Ascensia Finance Company Limited is a performance-driven financial institution licensed by the central Bank of Nigeria as a Finance House. #Ascensia is committed to delivering customer-centric credit and investment solutions. We are seeking a seasoned Finance and Operations Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversight of our financial and operational systems. This role is pivotal to ensuring financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and scalable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance reporting.
• Ensure timely preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with IFRS and CBN regulations.
• Monitor cash flow, manage liquidity, and ensure capital adequacy.
• Coordinate statutory audits, tax filings, and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and detect/prevent fraud.
• Manage bank relationships and support fundraising or credit line efforts.
Supervise payroll processing, account reconciliation, and expense management.

Operational Oversight

• Design, implement, and optimize operational systems, policies, and workflows.
• Ensure timely and efficient execution of customer onboarding, loan disbursements, and repayments.
• Develop and track operational KPIs to measure service levels and departmental performance.
• Coordinate procurement, vendor management, and office administration.
• Maintain strong risk management processes across business units.
Champion technology adoption and automation of back-office functions.

Strategic Leadership

• Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and management team on financial and operational matters.
• Contribute to business planning, product development, and investor relations.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of finance, accounts, and operations professionals.
• Ensure compliance with CBN, FRCN, NDIC, and other statutory guidelines.
• Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and innovation across departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in a financial institution or fintech, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Deep understanding of CBN reporting, tax laws, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, ERP) and digital finance tools.
• Proven track record of managing budgets, audits, and financial strategy.

Work Environment
