Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Factory Manager (Executive Level) to oversee and manage the end-to-end manufacturing operations at our multi-product facility in Lagos. The ideal candidate should have experience in running diverse production lines and managing cross-functional teams in a complex manufacturing environment. This role requires strong operational expertise, leadership, and strategic planning to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage overall factory operations across multiple units: lubricants, rice milling, packaging (cartons), cable extrusion, plastic molding (pipes and gallons).
- Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Lead daily production planning, monitoring, and execution across departments.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Manage workforce planning, staff training, and productivity across all divisions.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams for raw material planning and dispatch.
- Oversee maintenance of plant machinery and utilities; minimize downtime through preventive maintenance.
- Monitor key metrics: OEE, production output, defect rate, rejection ratio, and delivery performance.
- Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Handle audits, certifications, and compliance as per Nigerian and international standards (e.g., ISO, SON).
- Prepare budgets, CAPEX plans, and cost optimization strategies for factory operations.
- Report regularly to the company’s senior management team in India on plant performance and strategic needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production/Electrical/Industrial Engineering. MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in managing multiple product lines or diversified factories is essential.
- Strong knowledge of machinery and processes related to lubricants, extrusion, injection molding, rice processing, and carton packaging.
- Proven expertise in supply chain coordination, quality assurance, and cost control.
- Ability to manage large teams, enforce discipline, and foster a results-driven culture.
- Strong ERP and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with the Nigerian regulatory environment and industrial safety standards is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-cultural management skills.
