Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Talent Acquisition Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies focused on leadership hiring and building a pipeline of future leaders through the talent framework .
- Support the implementation of talent management processes: This involves assisting with the rollout of performance management cycles, supporting the identification of development needs, and contributing to initiatives focused on employee growth and career progression.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of learning and development programs: This includes helping to identify training needs, assisting in the creation of learning content, and supporting the coordination and delivery of programs aimed at enhancing employee skills and leadership capabilities.
- Help in the development and implementation of HR policies and ensure compliance with local labor laws in Nigeria and other West African countries would be expanding to: This involves supporting the creation and communication of HR policies, assisting in ensuring adherence to Nigerian laborlabour laws, and addressing employee relations matters as needed.
- Support the development of organizational structures and workforce planning efforts for Nigeria and other West African countries would be operational in: This includes providing input into organizational design discussions, assisting with analyzinganalysing workforce needs, and supporting the development of plans to ensure the right people are in the right roles.
- Assist in the implementation of talent engagement initiatives: This involves supporting the rollout of programs aimed at fostering a positive and productive work environment, contributing to initiatives that enhance employee morale and retention, and assisting with communication efforts.
- Provide support in managing human capital risks within the Nigerian operations: This includes assisting in the identification and assessment of HR-related risks and supporting the implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Stay updated on HR best practices and relevant laborlabour laws in Nigeria: This involves continuously learning about current HR trends and changes in Nigerian relevant labour legislation to ensure our practices are effective and compliant.
- Collaborate with the broader HR team and provide insights to support decision-making: This includes working closely with other HR colleagues, sharing relevant information and perspectives, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR function.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree is required; a relevant Master's degree is preferred.
- MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive HR experience, with exposure to talent acquisition, talent management, and talent engagement.
- Experience working within Nigeria and other West African countries is essential.
- Proven ability to implement HR policies and learning and development programs. Experience with leadership development is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Must be a native of Nigeria. Must have right to work in Nigeria (and across ECOWAS region)
- Culturally sensitive and experienced in fostering inclusive teams.
- Experience within services/FMCG/fintech and related fast paced environments, with extensive knowledge of managing expanded operations across rural/semi-urban regions across West Africa. Business level proficiency in English, and French are required. Proficiency in other local languages across West Africa, a plus.
