Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technical vision, strategy, and execution at Ubiti. The CTO will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and high-performance systems across our exchange, wallets, and payment infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute Ubiti’s technical strategy, system architecture, and product roadmap.
- Build and scale a secure crypto exchange platform supporting crypto swaps, crypto-to-naira, and fiat transactions.
- Oversee end-to-end platform security, including wallet protection, encryption protocols, KYC/AML integrations, and fraud prevention systems.
- Lead development of the payment gateway, virtual card infrastructure, and liquidity integrations.
- Hire, mentor, and manage cross-functional tech teams (engineering, DevOps, security).
- Implement DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and best-in-class security practices.
- Ensure compliance with global data protection and financial regulations.
- Collaborate with product, legal, and business teams to align technology with growth goals.
- Act as a technical leader in investor discussions and strategic partnerships
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CTO, Lead Developer, or Senior Engineer in fintech, crypto, or high-security platforms.
- Strong understanding of blockchain protocols, crypto swaps, wallet infrastructure, and crypto-to-naira exchange flows.
- Deep experience with security architecture, encryption standards, and secure coding practices.
- Strong backend experience (Node.js, Python, Go) and frontend frameworks (React, Next.js).
- Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure security (IAM, firewalls, monitoring).
- Strong leadership, communication, and execution skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on approach in early-stage environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with virtual cards, on/off-ramp APIs, and cross-border payments.
- Knowledge in liquidity management for crypto exchanges.
- Experience with API integrations, payment gateway, and card services.
- Familiarity with compliance, PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 27001, or other security standards.
- Background working in Nigeria fintech environments.

Pay: ₦300,000.00 - ₦500,000.00 per month
