Role Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Associate to integrate into a business development team. This is an exciting opportunity requiring exceptional candidates who have experience working for private sector clients, a can-do attitude, appetite to make an impact, versatility, and comfort operating in politically complex environments. The Associate will report to the Managing Director.
Associates will have the following responsibilities:
- providing administrative support to the West Africa practice director (coordinating and maintaining schedules,
completing expense reports, event planning, making travel arrangements, etc.);
- conducting extensive research and analysis of economic, political, security, trade, technology, public policy,
and business issues and identify new opportunities ,local clients;
- Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify key trends and opportunities in West Africa.
- Assisting in the development of strategic plans and business proposals for clients across various sectors.
- Supporting client engagements through stakeholder mapping, relationship management, and project
coordination.
- Contributing to the creation of insightful reports, presentations, and marketing materials for internal and
external stakeholders.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client needs and
objectives.
- writing memos, compiling biographies, and preparing presentations for the firm and clients;
- assisting with business development efforts by drafting corporate profiles and business proposals;

Academics
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, preferably in Business, Economics, International Relations, or a related field.

- Develop research, analysis, written insights and other deliverables for clients and country leadership
- Support projects or development opportunities as ARER advises government leaders on strategy and private clients on project development and lobbying activity
- Support delivery of high levels of project impact, facilitating nimble performance tracking and coordination where required
- Apply and learn from new and innovative approaches to supporting change and deliver impact
- Help develop strategies/frameworks and approaches Support project teams in the development of reports, presentations and other relevant documents
