Job Summary
The Account Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate accounting for construction projects. The role involves maintaining client relationships, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to analyze financial information accurately while using banking or financial software.
Responsibilities
- Record and process all financial transactions accurately and promptly.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and reports in line with company policies.
- Ensure accurate accounting for construction projects, including cost allocation and project reporting.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely settlements.
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain proper financial documentation.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Collaborate with project managers, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with financial requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, tax compliance, and accounting standards.
- Provide timely support during audits and ensure proper record-keeping.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN or in progress) is required.
- 4–6 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Proficiency in financial record-keeping, transaction processing, and basic accounting principles.
- Familiarity with financial/banking software and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage client relationships.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦150,000.00 - ₦200,000.00 per month
