We make it easy for African immigrants and communities to access affordable food ingredients and cooked meals from restaurants they trust. By bringing local vendors and restaurants onto one digital platform, Kofacart provides convenience, affordability, and cultural relevance for everyday food needs.
We are seeking a Social Media Marketing Specialist who will be the digital voice of Kofacart. This role is central to increasing our online presence, connecting with our target audience, and driving customer growth through engaging storytelling and creative campaigns.
Role Overview
The Social Media Marketing Specialist will manage Kofacart’s social channels, create content that resonates with African communities in Ontario, and build a vibrant digital presence that drives orders and vendor engagement. You will combine creativity with analytics to ensure campaigns deliver measurable results while strengthening the Kofacart brand.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with Kofacart’s mission to serve African immigrants in Ontario.
- Select the most effective platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X.com) for brand engagement.
- Maintain a content calendar that reflects product offerings, restaurant partnerships, seasonal promotions, and cultural events.
Content Creation & Management
- Produce engaging and authentic content (videos, reels, stories, graphics, and posts) showcasing food ingredients, meals, and vendor stories.
- Craft compelling copy that highlights Kofacart’s affordability, convenience, and cultural relevance.
- Manage posting schedules and ensure consistency in brand voice and storytelling.
Community Engagement & Growth
- Foster online communities by engaging actively with African immigrant groups, students, and families.
- Partner with influencers, food bloggers, and community leaders to amplify reach and trust.
- Support customer service efforts by responding to inquiries, reviews, and feedback on social platforms.
Campaigns & Promotions
- Launch social campaigns promoting discounts, restaurant meals, cultural food offerings, and vendor sign-ups.
- Manage paid advertising campaigns to increase app downloads, orders, and engagement.
- Leverage cultural celebrations (e.g., African festivals, holidays) to drive culturally relevant marketing.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track performance metrics such as impressions, engagement, click-throughs, conversions, and community growth.
- Generate reports with insights and recommendations for optimizing future campaigns. Monitor competitor activity and identify opportunities for innovation in food marketplace marketing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years of experience in social media marketing, ideally in e-commerce, food delivery, or retail.
- Strong portfolio of creative campaigns and content development.
- Proficiency in content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, etc.).
- Experience with social media management and analytics platforms (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite).
- Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills tailored for diverse communities.
- Familiarity with multicultural and community-driven marketing strategies. Analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable improvements.

Compensation:
N120,000 - N200,000
