Key Responsibilities:
1. Internal Control & Operational Oversight Design, implement, and monitor internal control frameworks across all business functions.
Conduct periodic risk assessments and internal audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
Oversee the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for business and operational activities.
2. Compliance Management Ensure full adherence to AML and regulatory compliance requirements in Canada, Liberia, Nigeria, Angola and other African Countries .
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and proactively update company policies and processes accordingly.
Review system-generated alerts related to suspicious activities and flag/report appropriately.
Maintain up-to-date compliance rule sets and liaise with the product and tech teams for implementation.
Manage all compliance filings and mandatory reporting to regulatory bodies in each country.
3. Training & Awareness Develop and deliver regular compliance and internal control training to staff across all departments and regions.
Promote a culture of ethical business conduct and awareness throughout the organization.
4. Audit Management Coordinate and manage all internal and external audits, including AML audits, regulatory inspections, and IT/system audits.
Prepare audit responses and oversee the implementation of remediation plans based on audit findings.
5. Policy & Documentation Develop, review, and manage comprehensive internal control, compliance, and operational policies.
Ensure documentation is up-to-date, version-controlled, and accessible.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Regulatory Compliance Rate Zero or minimal non-compliance issues reported across countries.
Audit Outcomes Clean internal and external audit results with minimal corrective actions.
Alert Resolution Efficiency Percentage of compliance alerts resolved within SLA timelines.
Policy Review Cycle Time Number of days to review and update policies.
Training Effectiveness Staff compliance training completion rate & post-training assessment scores.
Reporting Timeliness On-time submission of mandatory compliance reports to regulators.
Risk Mitigation Success Reduction in recurring control breaches or risk events.
System Review Frequency and quality of reviews of AML and compliance system rules and alerts.
