Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable HR / Payroll Clerk to support day-to-day human resources and payroll administration in our factory. This role involves managing factory workers’ records, monitoring attendance, supporting payroll preparation, and ensuring compliance with labor and safety standards. The ideal candidate is well-organized, trustworthy, and experienced in handling HR tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:HR & Personnel Support:
- Maintain accurate records of all factory employees, including contracts, ID cards, and performance files.
- Assist in onboarding new factory workers, ensuring proper documentation and induction.
- Track staff attendance, shifts, overtime, absences, and leave using manual or biometric systems.
- Support in the coordination of staff disciplinary actions and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with factory policies, health & safety rules, and labor laws.
Payroll Support:
- Collate daily time sheets, overtime, and deductions (lateness, absences, penalties).
- Prepare and submit monthly payroll inputs to the Accounts or Payroll Officer.
- Distribute payslips and respond to payroll-related questions from factory staff.
- Assist with statutory filings: PAYE, Pension, NHF, NSITF, etc.
Administrative Duties:
- Support factory management with administrative tasks such as reporting, filing, and internal memos.
- Maintain staff notice boards and ensure timely communication of HR-related updates.
- Assist in coordinating staff welfare activities (e.g., uniforms, canteen, health checks).
- Maintain confidentiality of all HR records and payroll data.
Requirements:Education & Experience:
- OND / HND / B.Sc. in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- 1–3 years experience in HR/payroll support, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Skills & Competencies:
- Good knowledge of timekeeping and payroll preparation.
- Familiarity with Nigerian labor laws and factory regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and numeric accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic HR/payroll software.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, especially with factory workers.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle large volumes of data.
Preferred Qualities:
- Experience working with factory time-tracking systems (biometrics or punch cards).
- Resident or willing to relocate close to the factory location.
- Strong sense of confidentiality and integrity.
