Role Summary
Our organization is seeking a seasoned, results-driven, and strategic professional to assume the role of General Manager, Commercial . This executive position is critical to the development and execution of commercial strategies that support sustainable business growth, with a strong focus on funds mobilization , revenue generation , and client relationship management across retail, corporate, and institutional segments.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in expanding the organizations funding base, enhancing liquidity, and ensuring alignment with long-term financial objectives, while driving commercial excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive commercial and funds mobilization strategies targeting retail, corporate, and institutional investors.
- Align commercial operations with the organizations overall strategic vision and financial objectives. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring for all commercial activities.

Revenue Generation & Business Development
- Identify and engage high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), SMEs, NGOs, corporates, and public sector organizations to secure investment and deposit inflows.
- Lead initiatives to increase customer acquisition, retention, and portfolio diversification.
- Recommend competitive product pricing and features based on market intelligence and customer needs. Establish and manage strategic partnerships to support market penetration and funding growth.

Client Relationship Management
- Oversee the management of key client accounts and ensure optimal service delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with financial regulators, institutional investors, and strategic partners. Ensure compliance with agreed service levels, industry regulations, and internal performance benchmarks.

Leadership & Team Development
- Provide visionary leadership and direction to the Commercial team, ensuring high performance and accountability.
- Build a collaborative, ethical, and results-oriented culture across the department. Facilitate professional development, mentoring, and succession planning within the team.

Financial Management & Oversight
- Drive the implementation of the companys liquidity and investment strategies with clear performance metrics. Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and market intelligence updates to the Board and Executive Committee.

- Quarterly Funds Mobilization Target: 1,000,000,000
- Year-on-Year Growth in Revenue and Investment Portfolio

Qualifications & Professional Experience
Educational Background
- Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field from a recognized institution. Professional certifications such as ICAN, CFA, or CIBN will be considered an added advantage.

Experience
- Minimum of 12 years experience in commercial or investment banking.
- At least 8 years in a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for fundraising, business development, and stakeholder engagement. Proven record of achieving or exceeding financial targets in the financial services industry.
