Job Summary
The Team Lead will oversee the design and implementation of comprehensive education transformation initiatives across one or more Nigerian states. Core objectives include: Strengthening government capacity to plan and manage reform, Improving education service delivery and financing mechanisms, Enhancing learning outcomes through systemic, scalable interventions, Facilitating partnerships between public, private, and civil society actors. Planned activities may include: Comprehensive System Diagnostics: School audits, digital enrollment, and baseline assessments, Needs-Based Planning: Stakeholder consultations and tailored intervention design, Strategic Planning: Formulation of policy roadmaps and technical strategies, Curriculum and Assessment Reform, Remedial and Vocational Learning Initiatives, Digital and Technology Integration for learning and data use

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Government Engagement & Strategic Alignment:
- Act as the company's main liaison with government stakeholders
- Facilitate policy alignment and high-level stakeholder buy-in Lead MoUs, joint work plans, and partnership agreements
Program Design, Planning & Quality Assurance:
- Co-develop and revise state-specific education transformation roadmaps
- Translate strategic priorities into detailed, results-based plans Ensure technical quality across all workstreams and deliverables
Program Management & Coordination:
- Lead implementation according to approved work plans and budgets
- Manage staff and consultants across technical and operational domains Chair coordination meetings to ensure collaboration and accountability
Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning & Reporting:
- Embed MEL frameworks in all interventions
- Lead baseline, midline, and endline assessments Produce progress reports, learning notes, and financial updates
Operational Oversight & Risk Management:
- Manage daily operations, including HR, finance, procurement, and logistics
- Monitor budgets and ensure financial accountability Identify and mitigate operational, political, and reputational risks
Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in Education, Public Administration, Policy, or related field
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in education reform and public sector programming
- Strong background in staff and financial management
- Experience with planning and implementing institutional and system reforms
- Track record of working with government and civil society in Nigeria
- Deep knowledge of the Nigerian education system and governance structures
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and change management skills
- Proficiency in quality assurance, MEL, and stakeholder engagement Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional coordination skills
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel regularly within Nigeria
- High ethical standards and commitment to transparency Sensitivity to political, cultural, and institutional dynamics
Key Outputs:
- Signed government MoUs and joint implementation plans
- Quarterly and annual implementation reports
- Validated technical outputs (e.g., curriculum frameworks, training modules)
- Baseline and endline impact evaluations Financial and risk management reports
Conflict of Interest Safeguards:
- Any dual role (e.g., serving on the Board of Trustees) must be declared
- Independent oversight will be provided for performance and financial review
- Transparent approval and review of compensation terms
- Transition plan toward an independent project leadership structure
