Software Tester

Salary :₦120,000- ₦150,000 per month
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software applications prior to release. This role involves creating test plans, executing test cases, identifying defects, and working closely with developers and product teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyse system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Execute both manual and automated test scripts to ensure functionality, usability, and reliability.
- Identify, document, and track defects using recognised bug-tracking tools.
- Perform regression testing to confirm that resolved issues are fixed and that new features do not affect existing functionality.
- Carry out various forms of testing, including functional, non-functional, integration, system, user acceptance (UAT), and performance testing.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and project managers to ensure requirements are met.
- Provide clear, detailed feedback on usability, performance, and potential risks.
- Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and testing standards.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience as a Software Tester, QA Engineer, or in a similar role.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Practical experience with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, JMeter, TestRail).
- A basic understanding of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) would be advantageous.
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of API testing and database testing is desirable.

- Effective communication skills to report issues clearly and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
