Job Summary
As the Site Foreman you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations on site, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise daily site operations and manage a team of workers to ensure that all tasks are completed to specification, on time, and within budget.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and guidelines are strictly adhered to. Conduct regular safety briefings, inspections, and audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor work quality on-site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards. Report and address any quality concerns or deviations.
- Oversee the effective utilization of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring that they are in good condition and available for use.
- Motivate, train, and supervise site workers, ensuring effective communication and cooperation among team members. Resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise on-site.
- Communicate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to report on progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with the overall project timeline and objectives.
- Provide regular updates on site activities, including daily reports, productivity levels, and any delays or challenges encountered.
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, inspections, safety checks, and personnel attendance.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- 10+ years in a supervisory or foreman role within the construction, mining, or manufacturing industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade qualifications or relevant certifications (e.g., safety, construction management) are an advantage.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of site safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant safety and industry certifications (e.g., First Aid, Occupational Health and Safety) are highly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦350,000.00 - ₦450,000.00 per month
