Position Overview:
The site engineer will play a crucial role in the construction and engineering aspects of our projects. The site engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical aspects of the construction site, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. S/he will work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of construction projects.
Job description
As a Site Engineer, you will:
- Plan and coordinate onsite construction activities
- Supervise construction activities, including excavation, foundation work, structural erection, and mechanical installations.
- Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency
- Implement improvements to designs and processes.
- Test material and structural integrity.
- Research the environmental impact of projects.
- Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications, and safety standards
- Direct engineering activities, assign tasks, and provide training and support
- Create work schedules and adjust as needed to meet project deadlines
- Maintain detailed documentation of all site engineering activities
- Collaborate with the project manager to align activities with desired business outcomes
- Assist in managing projects in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Ensuring Quality control using appropriate checklists, systems, and procedures
- Coordinate with the site admin to maintain daily site records.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- At least three (3) years experience in a similar role, preferably in building construction.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
