About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to join our growing team of creative thinkers and technical experts. In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end development of WordPress websites—from planning to customization and optimization. Daily tasks will include designing and building custom WordPress themes and plugins, troubleshooting website issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to create optimal user experiences. Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet business and client requirements.
• Customize and extend existing themes using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Develop custom post types, taxonomies, shortcodes, and reusable components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across both front-end and back-end.
• Optimize websites for performance (caching, lazy loading, database optimization, CDN integration).
• Ensure mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and SEO best practices.
• Implement site security (SSL setup, malware protection, code hardening).
• Work closely with designers, content managers, and marketing teams to bring web concepts to life.
Stay updated on new WordPress releases, plugins, and development trends.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
• Strong command of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery .
• Proven experience building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins from scratch.
• Familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) , custom post types, and taxonomies.
• Experience with website performance optimization and SEO best practices
• Experience with popular builders/themes like Divi, Astra, or Elementor .
• Understanding of website security practices and performance optimization tools like WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, or similar .
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
• Solid understanding of responsive design principles and SEO fundamentals .
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting

Nice-to-have

• Experience with REST APIs or headless WordPress setups.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) is a plus.
• Familiarity with tools like Chrome Developer Tools , Firebug , or other debugging tools.
UI/UX skills.
