Looking to fill the role of a Senior Investment Analyst.
Role Description :
As a Senior Investment Analyst, you will be a part of a dynamic and growing team with an evolving mandate that fosters the growth of early-stage start-ups across various industries. Your role would involve interacting with Angel investor communities, venture capitalists, business networks, and entrepreneur communities across Africa. The successful candidate will support the investment team in executing investment pipeline transactions, performing research and analysis, and providing support to back-end operations.
The successful candidate will not only support the investment team in sourcing and executing deals but also play an important part in the setup and operationalization of a new investment fund. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, self-directed, and excited by the opportunity to contribute to both investment execution and fund management infrastructure from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Execution:
- Source and evaluate investment opportunities across multiple sectors and geographies
- Review pitch decks and investment materials, providing recommendations to the investment committee
- Conduct market research, company analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence.
- Support deal structuring, negotiations, and closing processes.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and assist in value creation initiatives. Maintain internal databases and prepare investor reports and presentations.
Fund Formation & Strategy:
- Support the legal, operational, and strategic setup of the fund structure in collaboration with legal, tax, and fund administration advisors.
- Assist in drafting core fund documentation and internal policy documents.
- Contribute to LP fundraising activities by developing data rooms, financial models, and due diligence responses.
- Help design and implement internal systems and workflows for pipeline tracking, portfolio monitoring, and impact measurement.
- Engage with external stakeholders including limited partners, co-investors, and strategic advisors. Support fundraising activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or CFA is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, or a similar field.
- Demonstrated experience with financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis.
- Exposure to or strong interest in fund structuring, capital raising, and fund operations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and presentation.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
