Role Overview:
The Senior Business Development Executive will play a key role in driving the company’s growth objectives in the upstream sector of the Oil & Gas industry. This includes identifying new business opportunities, building and managing relationships with clients and partners, overseeing bid submissions, and gathering critical industry intelligence to support sales and contract acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s products and service offerings.
- Contribute strategically to business development initiatives to meet and exceed growth targets.
- Identify client needs and propose appropriate product/service solutions.
- Establish and manage relationships with Exploration & Production (E&P) companies and industry agencies (e.g., NAPIMS, DPR).
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between clients and partners.
- Monitor and manage client and partner relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations.
- Understand JV operations and technological developments in the sector.
- Generate and follow up on bids, tenders, RFQs, and POs.
- Collect and analyze project data for reporting and opportunity forecasting.
- Develop customer-specific engagement strategies and relationship plans.
- Conduct regular intelligence gathering on industry trends, upcoming projects, and competitor activities.
- Reconcile accounts, ensure timely payment collection, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Provide regular progress updates and performance reports.
- Achieve sales targets and demonstrate consistent revenue growth.
Requirements:
Education:
- A good university degree (preferably in Engineering, Sciences, or Business-related field).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in Technical Sales in the upstream oil and gas industry.
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed a USD 2.5 million annual sales target.
- Deep understanding of upstream operations and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
- Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and closing deals.
- Strong network and industry contacts within the Nigerian upstream sector.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinker with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated, result-driven, and capable of working independently.
