- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid security guard license or certification (as required by state/provincial regulations).
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or required, depending on the role).
- Experience:
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military (preferred, but entry-level positions may not require this).
- Familiarity with security operations, such as patrolling, monitoring surveillance systems, or incident reporting.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for reporting and interacting with staff, visitors, or law enforcement.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Physical fitness to handle patrolling, standing for long periods, or responding to emergencies.
- Basic knowledge of conflict de-escalation techniques.
- Legal and Background Requirements:
- Clean criminal background check.
- Ability to pass drug screening.
- Valid identification and eligibility to work in the country.
- Personal Attributes:
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Adaptability to work various shifts (day, night, weekends, or holidays).
- Technical Skills (if applicable):
- Familiarity with security equipment, such as CCTV systems, alarms, or access control systems.
- Basic computer literacy for logging incidents or using security software.
