Role Description

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our growing team and drive our lithium sourcing operations across Nigeria. This is a field-based role perfect for someone who thrives on travel, relationship-building, and making direct impact on company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source & Identify New Suppliers - Travel extensively across Nigeria to discover and evaluate new lithium mining operations and potential supply partners
• Quality Assessment & Field Evaluations - Conduct on-site assessments of lithium deposits, evaluate ore quality, and coordinate sample collection for laboratory testing
• Contract Negotiation - Negotiate favorable long-term supply agreements with mines and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable delivery terms
• Relationship Management - Build and maintain strong partnerships with mining operators, suppliers, and clients throughout Nigeria's lithium supply chain
• Market Intelligence - Support business development initiatives by identifying market opportunities and emerging suppliers in Nigeria's mining sector
• Documentation & Reporting - Maintain detailed records of supplier evaluations, contract terms, and market intelligence for management review

Qualifications

Educational Background:

• Degree in Geology or Supply Chain Management preferred (recent graduates welcome)
• Strong academic foundation in earth sciences, procurement, or related field

Essential Qualities:

• Excellent travel capacity - comfortable with extensive travel throughout Nigeria, including remote mining areas
• Strong negotiation and communication skills - able to build rapport and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Self-motivated and results-oriented - capable of working independently and driving initiatives forward
• Cultural adaptability - comfortable working in diverse environments across Nigeria's different regions
  

Preferred Experience:

• Existing relationships in Nigeria's mining or minerals industry (highly valued but not required)
• Previous experience in procurement, mining, or supply chain management (welcome but not mandatory)
Experience with quality assessment or geological evaluation procedures
