Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will assist with financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and general ledger maintenance. This role offers growth potential and the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in corporate accounting within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and monthly management accounts
- Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts
- Support accounts payable and receivable activities
- Monitor and update fixed asset registers
- Assist with tax and statutory filings (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.)
- Track and maintain petty cash, staff retirements, and advance payments
- Support audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and schedules
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for financial documents
- Perform any other accounting duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Senior Accountant
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a structured organization
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Strong ethics and a high level of integrity
Preferred Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with bank reconciliations and bookkeeping best practices
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦120,000.00 - ₦150,000.00 per month
