The Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience (KISN) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) invites applications for a PhD position in Aging Neuroscience, commencing in September 2025 (starting date negotiable). The successful candidate will join Dr. Maryam Ziaei’s research group, which investigates the structural and functional neural networks underlying social and emotional processing in aging populations. The group is conducting a multi-modal, deep sampling study utilizing Norway’s only 7T MRI scanner to examine the interaction between cortical and subcortical brain regions during emotion perception in healthy and clinical late adulthood populations.
Requirements
– Master’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, or a closely related field (equivalent to a five-year Norwegian course with 120 credits at the master’s level)
– Strong academic background with an above-average grade in the master’s program or equivalent education
– Master’s students may apply, but the degree must be completed and documented before the start date
