Job Description/Requirements
Position: Pharmacist
Expected Salary: ₦250,000 - ₦350,000
Working Hours: 8 am - 9 pm (on alternate shifts)
Location : Gbagada, Lagos
Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced and licensed pharmacist to oversee the professional and operational activities of our neighbourhood pharmacy & supermarket. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, dispensing medications accurately, providing quality pharmaceutical care, supervising pharmacy staff, and supporting the overall business growth of the pharmacy.
He/she must be patient-focused and remain up-to-date with the latest advances in pharmaceutical science.
Responsibilities:
Dispense prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications accurately and efficiently.
Provide medication counselling, drug information, and health advice to patients.
Providing medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), NAFDAC, and other relevant authorities.
Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation.
Supervise and train pharmacy technicians, interns, and other support staff.
Monitor inventory levels, check for expiries, and ensure proper storage of drugs.
Participate in community health outreach, patient education, and wellness programs.
Support business operations by promoting pharmaceutical services and ensuring excellent customer experience.
Prepare and submit periodic reports as required by regulatory bodies and management.
Patient clerking and recommendations
Monitoring customers’ drug therapies, advising interventions, and counseling on any potential side effects.
Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.
Additional duties as needed from a pharmacist
Key Requirements:
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
Current license to practice as a Pharmacist in Nigeria (PCN registration).
Minimum of 2-5 years post-NYSC experience in community or retail pharmacy practice.
Strong knowledge of drugs, pharmaceutical care, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, counselling, and customer service skills.
Ability to supervise and motivate staff.
Proficiency in pharmacy software and basic IT tools is an added advantage.
