Required Qualifications and Project Experience:

• A Master’s degree (MSc) in naval architecture from an internationally recognized university.

• At least 20 years of professional experience in vessel design and construction supervision.

• Demonstrated experience in ferry (preferably electric ferry) design and supervision.

• Experience working with Classification Societies.

• Prior involvement in IFI-funded projects in developing countries is preferred.
  

Key Tasks:

• Define technical and operational specifications and performance criteria for the e-ferries.

• Prepare a Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for the e-ferries.

• Develop protocols for sea trials, handover, and ferry maintenance.

• Support LASWA in selecting appropriate shipyards.

• Assume full responsibility for the construction supervision of e-ferries.

• Assist LASWA in selecting a Classification Society and oversee the certification process.

• Inspect and approve all e-ferry equipment and partial completions.

• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests for key e-ferry components (e.g., engines, radar systems).

• Participate in the handover of e-ferries to LASWA and complete the formal handover protocol.

• Ensure that all e-ferries are delivered with quality, on time, and within budget.
