Founded in 2022, United Front for Development and Climate Action (United Front Africa) is a youth-led non-profit organization on a mission to empower communities to thrive in the face of climate change. We work at the intersection of governance, development and climate change; leveraging the combined power of innovation, technology, and the energy of young people to drive inclusive progress across Nigeria. United Front envisions a Nigeria where every community is safe, resilient, and progressing toward sustainable development.
Role Description
As a member of the Board of Advisors (BOA), you will play a strategic and supportive role in guiding United Front Africa's vision, amplifying its impact, and contributing to its long-term growth and relevance. Advisory Board Members serve in a non-governing, non-fiduciary capacity, offering expert advice, mentorship, and high-level engagement to support the organization’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic advice on programs, partnerships, and organizational growth.
- Leverage your networks and expertise to support fundraising, visibility, and advocacy efforts.
- Mentor and guide young leaders within the organization.
- Participate in annual advisory roundtables and other engagements as needed.
- Serve as a champion of the organization’s mission across local, national, and international platforms.
? Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking well-respected and passionate individuals who meet the following criteria:
Required:
- Proven track record in at least one of the following: climate action, development policy, governance, youth leadership, environmental law, philanthropy, technology for development, or related fields.
- Strong alignment with the mission, values, and vision of United Front Africa.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategic advice and mentorship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to actively participate and support the organization’s goals.
Preferred:
- Experience serving on boards, advisory panels, or leadership councils.
- Familiarity with community-led initiatives or youth-focused organizations. Access to professional or donor networks that can support United Front Africa.
? Term of Service
- Initial term: 2 years, renewable based on mutual interest and engagement level. This is a voluntary position (non-remunerated), with recognition and opportunities for public visibility and sector influence.
