A Liability Generation Executive (Deposit Mobilization) plays a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to attract and retain deposits for a microfinance bank. This role focuses on expanding the bank’s deposit base through targeted marketing, building relationships with customers, and implementing initiatives that encourage deposit mobilization.
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement strategies for attracting new deposits and retaining existing depositors.
● Collaborate with senior management to design deposit products tailored to market needs.
● Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for deposit mobilization, especially in underserved areas.
● Identify and target potential high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), businesses, and institutional depositors.
● Build strong relationships with customers to ensure loyalty and customer satisfaction.
● Develop strategies to target and engage digital-savvy customers using mobile and internet banking platforms.
● Provide financial advice and promote the bank’s products and services to increase deposits.
● Leverage the bank’s digital channels (mobile app, USSD, internet banking) to drive deposit mobilization.
● Work with the product and technology teams to enhance user experience, ease of deposit, and digital onboarding.
● Promote the use of digital banking services to existing and potential clients to simplify the deposit process.
● Ensure all deposit mobilization activities comply with local regulations, bank policies, and AML/KYC requirements.
● Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure that deposit activities follow all regulatory frameworks.
● Identify and mitigate risks associated with deposit mobilization.
● Monitor deposit inflows and regularly report on the performance of deposit products.
● Track key performance indicators (KPIs) like deposit growth, customer acquisition, and deposit retention rates.
● Provide feedback to senior management on market trends and competitive activities.
● Collaborate with the operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth deposit transactions.
● Work closely with the marketing team to align campaigns with deposit mobilization goals.
● Contribute to cross-functional team initiatives to improve overall customer experience and product offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3 years and above experience in liability generation, deposit mobilization, or a similar role within the banking or microfinance industry.
- Experience working with digital banking products, fintech platforms, or microfinance institutions. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Sales and Marketing Expertise: Proven ability to sell financial products and attract deposits. Digital Literacy: Knowledge of digital banking platforms and the ability to leverage them for deposit mobilization.
- Customer Relationship Management: Experience in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market data, trends, and customer behavior to drive deposit growth strategies.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to attract potential depositors. Knowledge of Banking Regulations: Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to deposits, especially in microfinance banking.

Pay: ₦600,000.00 - ₦850,000.00 per month
