Position Summary: Legal Associate
We are hiring a passionate and qualified Legal Associate who has been called to the Nigerian Bar. This role is ideal for a lawyer with strong litigation experience and a drive for social justice, human rights advocacy, and criminal justice reform. You will work directly with our legal team to represent underserved clients, participate in prison outreach programs, and support access to justice initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court, legal clinics, and prison outreach programs.
- Draft legal documents, court processes, and advocacy materials.
- Conduct legal research and support strategic litigation efforts.
- Collaborate with internal and external legal teams on casework.
- Participate in legal empowerment programs and stakeholder engagements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
- Proven interest in human rights law, public interest law, or criminal defense.
- Strong skills in legal research, legal drafting, and courtroom advocacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, with integrity and attention to detail.
- Must be Lagos-based or willing to work onsite in Lagos.
