Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor financial and operational transactions to detect potential risks, irregularities, or violations.
- Conduct periodic audits and control reviews across departments.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen internal processes and reduce operational risk.
- Assist in developing and updating internal control policies and risk management frameworks.
- Investigate incidents of fraud, error, or non-compliance and report findings to management.
- Support external audit processes and regulatory examinations.
- Prepare and submit regular internal control reports to management. Ensure timely resolution of control issues and follow-up on action plans
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–4 years experience in internal control, internal audit, or compliance, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Good understanding of financial regulations, risk management, and internal auditing standards.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of audit or ERP software is an advantage. Professional certifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA) are an added advantage.
