Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Business Partner (Automobile Division) to support our automotive business operations. The successful candidate will partner with workshop, sales, logistics, and technical leads to drive HR strategy, ensure compliance, and support workforce planning and performance.
This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional with a deep understanding of fast-paced, technical work environments such as automotive maintenance, repairs, sales, and field service operations.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business unit leads to develop and execute people strategies aligned with operational goals.
Manage end-to-end recruitment for technical roles (mechanics, drivers, technicians), sales teams, and support staff.
Oversee onboarding, orientation, and continuous performance tracking for automotive division staff.
Resolve employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and conflict resolution.
Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and compliance with workshop/site policies.
Drive learning and development efforts, especially technical skill training and safety compliance.
Collaborate with payroll and admin teams to ensure accurate employee data and benefits administration.
Support workshop/workforce planning and ensure alignment with business expansion plans.
Champion health, safety, and labor law compliance in collaboration with HSE and Legal teams.
Generate and present HR reports (turnover, productivity, engagement, and compliance metrics) to management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years’ HR experience, with at least 2 years supporting a technical or operations-heavy division (automotive, manufacturing, logistics, etc.).
Strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, employee relations, and performance management.
Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams, especially in workshop or technical settings.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Strong command of Microsoft Excel, HR software, and reporting tools.
Preferred Certifications
CIPM, SHRM, or equivalent professional HR certification.
Additional advantage if familiar with automotive workflows or fleet operations.
