Job Summary
The Head, Strategy & Business Development will lead the strategic planning, growth initiatives, and market expansion efforts at Tagora. This role requires a visionary and results-driven leader who can shape long-term strategies, forge key partnerships, identify growth opportunities, and enhance Tagora’s market position in Nigeria’s evolving financial landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop and drive the company’s long-term strategy in alignment with its mission, vision, and goals.
Lead cross-functional teams to design and execute corporate strategies and initiatives.
Drive deposit and Investments and curate business leads, converting clients to customers.
Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to refine and adjust strategic priorities.
Present strategic reports, insights, and recommendations to the executive team and board.
Business Development & Growth
Identify new business opportunities, markets, and channels to expand Tagora’s reach and services.
Build and manage strategic alliances, partnerships, and joint ventures that align with business objectives.
Lead negotiations with potential partners, stakeholders, and investors.
Drive customer acquisition strategies with a focus on underserved and unbanked populations.
Market Intelligence & Analysis
Conduct deep market research and financial analysis to support business case development and strategic decisions.
Translate insights into actionable plans to enhance product offerings and market fit.
Track performance metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of business development initiatives.
Leadership & Team Management
Build and lead a high-performing strategy and business development team.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with product, finance, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment across strategic initiatives.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA or Master’s degree preferred).
8+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, business development, or corporate development roles.
Proven experience in fintech, financial services, or related sectors in Nigeria or similar markets.
Skills & Competencies
Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Deep understanding of the Nigerian financial landscape and regulatory environment.
