ABOUT THE ROLE

The Head, Investment Banking is responsible for driving business strategy; leading and managing all capital market operations related to the origination, structuring, and execution of equity and debt issuance for clients. S/he develops and approves strategies to meet investor, consumer, and employee needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Business Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and implement business strategies to grow the issuing house/investment banking business.
• Identify new business opportunities in equity and debt capital markets (IPOs, private placements, bonds, commercial papers, etc.).
• Lead high-level client pitches and secure deal mandates.

2. Deal Origination and Execution

• Oversee the end-to-end transaction lifecycle: due diligence, valuation, structuring, regulatory filing, marketing, and post-deal support.
• Provide strategic and technical guidance on structuring capital market instruments.
• Liaise with regulators (e.g., SEC, stock exchange) to ensure timely approvals and compliance.

3. Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of investment bankers and analysts.
• Review and approve transaction documents, proposals, and financial models prepared by the team.
• Foster a high-performance culture with strong ethics and regulatory discipline.

4. Regulatory and Compliance Oversight

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to capital market activities.
• Coordinate with compliance, legal, and risk management teams to mitigate deal and reputational risk.

5. Relationship Management

• Maintain and expand a network of corporate clients, investors, regulators, and intermediaries.
Represent the firm at industry conferences, roadshows, and investor briefings.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economis or Business Administration or related, and an MBA (or related)
• CIS or CFA certifications.
• Substantial senior leadership experience within our industry (or similar): Investment Banking etc.
• Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of Equity and Debt Market, Relationships with DFIs and big Institutions, Capital Market transactions, investment, and risk management principles.
• Possesses Executive Presence and strong organizational skills that can handle the demands of the role
• Substantial experience leading Strategy, Revenue growth, Digital Transformation, Products, and Operations within multi-stakeholder environments.
Have proven “strong” people skills and an astute communicator.
