With our fast-paced expansion, we are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Finance to lead our financial strategy, ensure compliance, and drive fiscal growth.
Job Summary
The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of PalmPay in Nigeria, including strategic financial planning, budgeting, risk management, and compliance. This individual will provide leadership to the finance team, implement efficient systems, and ensure the company’s financial sustainability in alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute PalmPay’s financial strategy to support business growth and profitability.
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes in collaboration with business unit heads.
- Monitor key financial metrics and provide actionable insights to executive management.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting regulations.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize operational efficiency.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Oversee compliance with tax laws, regulatory reporting, and audit requirements.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks affecting the company’s operations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the team is equipped with the latest tools, knowledge, and practices in financial management.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with the CEO, Group CFO, and other executives on strategic initiatives.
- Liaise with banks, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Support fundraising, investment appraisals, and strategic partnership negotiations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA required.
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior management role—preferably in fintech, banking, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, tax regulations, and compliance in Nigeria.
- Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and strategic execution.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in financial systems, ERP tools, and Microsoft Excel.
