Job Summary:
The Head of Business and Marketing is responsible for leading the business development and marketing strategies of the HMO to drive growth, expand market share, and ensure strong brand visibility. This role oversees the acquisition and retention of corporate clients, partnerships, and broker relationships, and ensures all marketing efforts are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth through corporate and retail client acquisition.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and channels for expansion.
- Lead contract negotiations and onboarding of new clients, brokers, and partners.
- Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to inform business strategy.
Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Design and execute marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and market penetration.
- Oversee digital and traditional marketing efforts, including content creation, advertising, social media, events, and PR.
- Develop marketing materials tailored to various customer segments (corporate, SMEs, individuals).
- Manage internal and external communications to uphold brand consistency.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor the business development and marketing teams.
- Work closely with the operations, customer service, and provider relations teams to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations.
- Set KPIs, track performance, and generate periodic reports for management.
Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and satisfaction.
- Handle escalated client concerns and resolve issues promptly.
- Organize client engagement activities and feedback sessions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA is an advantage).
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in business development and marketing, preferably within the healthcare or insurance industry.
- Proven track record in meeting sales targets and driving growth.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the HMO and health insurance industry in Nigeria.
