Job Title: Financial Reporting Manager

Job Summary
The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and integrity of financial reports in compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal policies. The role ensures that all financial statements and disclosures for the institution are prepared promptly and meet financial reporting requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS, CBN guidelines, and other statutory regulations relevant to PMIs.
- Supervise the financial reporting team to ensure accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger integrity.
- Coordinate statutory, regulatory, and internal audits, including liaising with auditors and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
- Ensure timely submission of reports to regulatory bodies
- Develop and maintain financial reporting policies and procedures in alignment with evolving financial regulations and industry standards.
- Monitor compliance with capital adequacy, liquidity ratios, and other financial covenants.
- Provide financial insights and reports to support strategic planning, budgeting, and decision-making by senior management and the board.
- Oversee the maintenance of a robust internal control environment over financial reporting processes.
- Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and accounting standards and ensure the institution’s reporting framework is updated accordingly. Train, mentor, and manage the performance of junior staff within the financial reporting team.

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role in financial reporting within a bank or financial institution.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, CBN regulatory framework, and tax regulations applicable to financial institutions.
- Proficient in accounting and reporting software (e.g., Sage, SAP, or core banking systems).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy. Management skills with the ability to drive financial transformation initiatives.
