Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive bookkeeping tasks, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Manage accounting processes such as preparing financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss reports.
- Oversee tax-related activities, including preparation and filing of returns, ensuring full compliance with Nigerian Tax Laws (e.g., VAT, WHT, CIT, and other relevant regulations).
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Handle audits, payroll processing, and other ad-hoc finance-related duties as needed. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve financial queries and optimise processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (professional certifications like ICAN, ACCA, or CPA are highly desirable).
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and tax management.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian Tax Laws, including familiarity with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) guidelines, tax incentives, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Excel, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and thrive in a team-oriented setting.
- High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
